Downtown Days Presented by the Wayne DDA will take place in Veterans Plaza on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10. This year’s event will feature multiple art contests, including the third annual Window on Wayne photography contest, hosted by Helium Studios. We are also proud to announce the return of Art-O-Motive. Honoring Wayne’s role in the automotive industry, this contest will feature paintings on car hoods from local artists. We will also have a flea market, a free drop-in workshop for kids (hosted by the Detroit Institute of Arts), musical performances, and so much more! Downtown Days promises to be Wayne’s most exciting event of the Summer!
Welcome to Downtown Wayne!
Downtown Wayne is a hidden gem in the western suburbs of Detroit. Conveniently located between Detroit and Ann Arbor on US 12/Michigan Avenue, our small historic town is rooted in tradition and community.
Downtown Wayne is working towards becoming the heart of community activity once again. Visitors may find themselves in many of our retail and dining establishments. The area attracts local residents through special events that involve both the community and local business owners. Whether it’s launching a canoe in the Rouge River at Goudy Park, doing your holiday shopping on Small Business Saturday, or watching your favorite local band perform during the summer concert series, there’s always something happening in downtown Wayne.
