Is there a particular skill that you excel in? Are you an excellent writer or great event planner? Offer up your skills to the organization, they will be very appreciative.
3) Help as much as you can.
Organizations depend on volunteers, so help in as many areas as you can without over extending yourself.
4) Keep an open mind and be willing to learn.
Volunteering is a learning experience. You will learn a lot with your organization and the things that they focus on.
5) Most importantly, remember to have fun!
Volunteering is supposed to be fun and not a daunting task.
