Intern with Us!

Wayne Main Street offers internships year around. School credit is available, just be sure to set it up with your supervising professor. Our internships are hands on! Interns will have the opportunity to run their own project and contribute to on going projects.

Here is a list of available internships:

Communications Internship Program

Looking to gain public relations experience? How about event planning? Then look no further. A typical day could consist of drafting press releases in the morning, contacting vendors for an event by lunch, then sitting in on a committee meeting in the afternoon. It’s far from monotonous. It’s fast-paced. It’s fun.

Design Internship Program

Great portfolios show off a designer’s versatility. Our design interns have the opportunity to do just that. They create promotional materials (posters, ads, etc.) for Wayne Main Street, downtown businesses and our events. With so many projects, no two are the same.

Volunteer Coordinator Internship Program

Our events wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers. They’re the unsung heroes of our productions. We need someone to recruit, educate and advise them.

Historic Preservation Graduate Student Internship Program

Wayne Main Street is a downtown revitalization effort with foundations in Historic Preservation. Nominating historic structures for the National Register of Historic Places, aiding the Design Committee with implementing the Facade Grant Incentive Program by making sure building owners are adhering to the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, or conducting a study to establish a Local Historic District, erecting historic markers, and writing articles for professional publications are some of the possible projects that you could add to your professional resume upon completion of this internship!
