Derby’s Alley
Derby’s Alley info: The park has been named Derby’s Alley to honor Wayne’s history and first settler, Ezra Derby. We’ve hired Stacey Tobar, RLA LEED AP Landscape Architect from Giffels Webster to design the park. This pocket park will be a place for people of all ages to gather. While it will be open at all times, there will also be regular programming geared towards many audiences. Some ideas include poetry slams, storytelling, small acoustic performances, temporary art exhibits, fashion shows, food truck rallies, family activities such as mini-golf, book readings, etc.!

Hi Constance,
You are correct, our municipality is running out of money. This project is being funded by Wayne Main Street, which is a 501c3 non-profit organization. We are using dollars we’ve raised and dollars donated by partners like the Wayne Rotary Club to get the project off the ground. We will then do a public fundraising campaign (crowdfunding) and apply for grants to pay for this project. If you have any questions feel free to email us at director@downtownwayne.org or call (734) 629-6822. Thanks for your comment!
