Lindsey Dotson is from Superior Township, Mich. She has served as the Executive Director of Wayne Main Street since May of 2014. Before coming to Wayne, she worked for the City of Howell’s DDA/Main Street program as Outreach Coordinator. While in graduate school Lindsey also gained experience working for the City of Detroit’s Planning and Development Department. Wooten earned her Bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State and her Master’s degree in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University.
She loves that Wayne has a “small town feel that you can’t find in surrounding metro Detroit cities. The sense of community is strong here and is admirable.” Her favorite places in Wayne include the Wayne Farmer’s Market, Helium Studio, Biggby Coffee, and Leo’s Jewelry and Gifts because she’s a big Vera Bradley fan. She also loves the food at the Avenue and the comfy new recliners at the State Wayne theater.
Dotson’s vision for Downtown Wayne: “I look forward to the day that all of our storefronts are full, our second floors have lofts and apartments, and events take place that help fill our underutilized parking garage.” Dotson is also a member of the Michigan Downtown Association, on the Board of Trustees for the Wayne Historical Society, is an active Wayne Rotary Club member, and volunteers with the Michigan Historic Preservation Network’s Development Committee.
